摘要: We conducted two experiments to determine the source of sexually attractive odors in white-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus). In Experiment 1, estrous, midcycle, and anestrous doe urines, buck urine, a commercial lure, sterile saline were tested their attractiveness free-ranging on study areas Georgia Florida. All urine samples obtained directly from bladder. A randomized incomplete block design with paired 1 m2 tracking pits (10-m apart) was used. Deer visitation rates test highest for but not statistically different compounds (P<0.05). 2, bladder or vaginal secretions estrous midcycle females control applied ovariectomized females. Attractiveness an epididymectomized, teaser male determined by recording number approaches time associated each doe. With both measures, significantly greater than (P<0.03). Neither secretions, nor elicited more responses control. Our data indicate that female originate reproductive tract. The possibility these may become voided during urination must be explored.
