The application of geographical information systems to veterinary medicine: an overview

摘要: Geographical information systems (GIS), are powerful computerized with capabilities for inputting, storage, mapping, analysis and display of spatial data associated a location on the Earth's surface. GIS have tremendously enhanced ecological epizootiology, study diseases in relation to their ecosystems. They found increasing application surveillance monitoring studies, identification environmental risk factors as well disease prediction, policy planning, prevention control. This article is an overview veterinary medical research, education, decision support different parts world, including Nigeria.
