ACUPUNCTURE EFFECTIVENESS AS A COMPLEMENTARY THERAPY IN FUNCTIONAL DYSPEPSIA PATIENTS

摘要: Context Functional dyspepsia represents a frequent gastrointestinal disorder in clinical practice. According to the Roma III criteria, functional can be classified into two types as predominant sympton: epigastric pain and postprandial discomfort. Even though pathophysiology is still uncertain, seems related multiple mechanisms, among them visceral hypersensitivity, changes gastroduodenal motility gastric accommodation psychological factors. Objective Evaluate effectiveness of acupuncture complementary conventional treatment patients. Methods Randomized trial which were enrolled patients with according Rome criteria. One group was submitted drug therapy specific (GI) other non-specific (GII). The symptoms, presence psychiatric disorders quality life evaluated, at end three months after treatment. Results After 4 weeks there improvement symptoms Group I (55 ± 12 vs 29 8.8; P = 0.001) II (50.5 10.2 46 10.5; 0.001). Quality significantly better than (93.4 7.3 102.4 5.1; Anxiety (93.3% 0%; depression (46.7% 0.004) lower II. When comparing groups treatment, (29 8.8 P<0.001) (102.4 5.1 96 6.1; 0.021) Three remained only I, when compared pre-treatment values (38 11.3 55 12; Conclusion In superior Further studies more are needed confirm these findings.
