摘要: ummary Background Diesel exhaust particles (DEP) enhance allergic airway inflammation in mice (Takano et al., Am J Respir Crit Care Med 1997; 156: 36–42). DEP consist of carbonaceous nuclei and a vast number organic chemical compounds. However, it remains to be identified which component(s) from are responsible for the enhancing effects. 9,10-Phenanthraquinone (PQ) is quinone compound involved DEP. Objective To investigate effects PQ inoculated intratracheally on related ovalbumin (OVA) challenge. Materials Methods We evaluated inflammation, local expression cytokine proteins, allergen-specific immunoglobulin production presence or absence OVA. Results In OVA, (2.1 ng/animal) significantly increased numbers eosinophils mononuclear cells bronchoalveolar lavage fluid as compared with OVA alone. contrast, these around airways were not different between challenge plus lung histology. exhibited adjuvant activity IgG1 IgE. induced significant increases IL-4, IL-5, eotaxin, macrophage chemoattractant protein-1, keratinocyte vehicle challenge. combination did alter levels proteins alone. Conclusion These results indicate that can infiltration inflammatory into alveolar spaces whereas seems partially toxicity inflammation.
