摘要: Abstract Sugarcane and bioethanol production produces large amounts of bagasse fly ash vinasse, which are solid viscous liquid wastes, respectively. However, these wastes often disposed into the environment without treatment, thus posing an environmental public health risk. This study investigated treatment vinasse effluent in terms reduction chemical oxygen demand (COD) acidity removal using sugarcane ash. A maximum COD efficiency 72% was obtained volume 100 mL, contact time 180 min, shaking speed 240 rpm. The adsorbent dose particle sizes were 4.5 g 90–125 μm, Furthermore, potential application as a sand filtration bed assessed column test. recovery 68% at 25-min interval. adsorption data found to fit Freundlich model best (Kf = 2.16 mg g−1; R2 = 0.96), kinetics pseudo-second order (R2 = 0.98).
