摘要: This chapter introduces electrochemical corrosion kinetics of metallic systems. It starts by presenting basic interfacial polarization aspects and the relevance. then explains mixed potential theory, reversible electrode potential, exchange current density, current, Tafel slopes. A full discussion on ohmic polarization, special cases Butler-Volmer equation with high low field approximation concentration are included to show relationship behavior mass transfer. By end chapter, solved exercise problems illustrate reaction analyses at metal-solution interface, process mechanisms, rate control, protection strategies.
