摘要: Purpose : Breast tumors of BRCA1 mutation carriers and those early onset breast cancer cases share similar histological features, being generally high-grade, highly proliferative, aneuploid that are predominantly estrogen- progesterone-receptor negative. Because features premenopausal women differ from older women, we sought to determine whether the immunophenotype was influenced by age at diagnosis. Experimental Design We examined 31 compared them with 81 age-matched (plus or minus 5 years) patients unselected for family history. Tumors were further matched histology, grade, size. Paraffin-embedded tumor tissues protein expression estrogen receptor (ER), PR, Ki-67, cyclin D1, TP53, HER2, β-catenin, E using immunohistochemical approaches. Results ER ( P = 0.01), PR 0.06), D1 0.002) less frequently expressed Ki-67 0.01) β-catenin 0.04) more in than controls. After stratification, found a significant difference frequency diagnosed before 50 years controls stained positive 0.03), 0.008), 0.04), 0.05). However, no differences observed Conclusions These data suggest diagnosis, possibly related menopausal status, may be an important factor specific proteins carriers.
