摘要: PURPOSE: To evaluate—relative to routine clinical practice—the potential cost-effectiveness of implementing a strategy compliant with National Institute Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) recommendations for care patients presenting signs symptoms acute ischemic stroke. MATERIALS AND METHODS: A discrete-event simulation model the process stroke from symptom onset through administration tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) was constructed. literature review performed determine times, performance computed tomography (CT), health outcomes, cost estimates. The following were compared: (a) “base-case” determined on basis findings in (b) NINDS-compliant (ie, evaluation by emergency physician less than 10 minutes, interpretation CT scans within 45 tPA 1 hour after presentation). Strategies compared regard effectiveness. Sensitivity analyses...
