摘要: High fertility intentions amongst HIV-positive women have been reported elsewhere. Less is known about how clinical and HIV treatment characteristics correlate with intentions. We use cross-sectional baseline data from a prospective cohort study to assess pregnancy patient–provider communication around fertility. Non-pregnant, aged 18–35 on ART were recruited through convenience sampling at Johannesburg antiretroviral (ART) facilities. Among the 850 in this analysis, those efavirenz had similar over next year as nevirapine-based regimens (33% vs. 38%). In multivariate recent initiation was associated higher current intentions; there no association CD4 cell count. Forty-one percent of communicated providers future options. Women may choose conceive times that are sub-optimal for maternal, child partner health outcomes should be routinely counseled safer
