Quenching of exchange splitting in face centred cubic Fe observed by angle resolved photoemission

摘要: Abstract The energy bands along the (001)-direction of face centered cubic iron have been determined by means angle resolved photoemission utilising synchrotron radiation. Bulk Fe is bcc at room temperature: metastable fcc-phase has obtained thin film epitaxy on a Cu(001)-surface. In contrast to fcc show no exchange splitting (to within limits our experimental resolution 0.3 eV), indicating loss ferromagnetic order in phase temperature. An as yet unidentified feature reported which not consistent with one-electron band theory.
