摘要: Integrins are a family of transmembrane receptors that mediate interactions cells with extracellular matrix (ECM) constituents and cell surface counter receptors. Each integrin mediates specific sets ligands regulates distinct aspects cellular function including attachment to organization ECM assemblies, migration, proliferation survival, mechanical force transmission. exert their versatile functions by establishing link between the exterior cytoskeleton, activating intracellular second messenger systems. In addition, signals can modulate activity ligand interactions, enabling transduction information from inside outside. Many basic integrins have been uncovered studying them biochemically or in culture. Integrin also determined genetically, defining essential roles organism. The ongoing challenge is integrate biological, biochemical, genetical evidence into coherent picture. I will discuss here genetic findings, focusing on murine system, shed light developmental ligands. Where suitable available, relate finding results obtained biological biochemical approaches.
