Hydrophobicities and antibacterial activities of silicone polyester/titanium dioxide composites on nylon fabrics after argon plasma treatment

摘要: In this study, we blended silicone, polyethylene glycols, and TiO2 to obtain composites that then coated onto nylon fabric, which had subjected Ar plasma treatment. Fourier transform infrared Raman spectroscopic characterization revealed our PEG-silicone–TiO2 were more resistant treatment than the TiO2-free systems. We used scanning electron microscopy high-resolution X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy observe surface morphologies element compositions dispersions of these on fabric before after Contact angle tests variations in wetting induced by different hydrophilic composites. The use higher-molecular-weight resulted largest contact (>120°), providing products with better water-repellency. addition, investigated antibacterial properties toward Staphylococcus aureus; treatment, hydrophobic retained its activity.
