摘要: Meningiomas are the commonest types of tumours in central nervous system (CNS). It is a benign type tumour divided into three WHO grades (I, II and III) associated with growth rate likelihood recurrence, where surgical outcomes patient treatments dependent on meningioma grade histological subtype. The development alternative approaches based attenuated total reflection Fourier-transform infrared (ATR-FTIR) spectroscopy could aid determination its biospectrochemical profiling an automated fashion. Herein, ATR-FTIR combination chemometric techniques employed to distinguish I, I meningiomas that re-occurred. Ninety-nine patients were investigated this study their formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded (FFPE) brain tissue samples analysed by spectroscopy. Subsequent classification was performed via principal component analysis plus linear discriminant (PCA-LDA) partial least squares (PLS-DA). PLS-DA gave best results discriminated 79% accuracy, 80% sensitivity 73% specificity, while versus recurrence 94% accuracy (94% specificity) 97% (97% 100% specificity), respectively. Several wavenumbers identified as possible biomarkers towards differentiation. majority these lipids, protein, DNA/RNA carbohydrate alterations. These findings demonstrate potential discrimination fast, low-cost, non-destructive sensitive tool for clinical settings. Graphical abstract Attenuated used discriminate tumours.
