The EDNA model for doing research in practical theology : a biblical approach

摘要: This article is a proposal of the EDNA model for doing practical theology using Biblical approach. The proposed covers four areas research in theology. When placed together, these form an acronym that spells out name EDNA: (1) Exploratory asks: 'What has led to present situation?' (2) Descriptive happening now?' (3) Normative asks, should be happening?' and (4) Action 'How we respond?' The organised around research. After grounding theologically philosophically, attempt made ground describe function each model's done, firstly, by defining research, as presented social sciences; secondly, conducting phenomenological analysis recurring themes selection recognised theological models prominent theologians provide research; and, thirdly, analysing area selected models. Finally, illustrated two examples from New Testament also applied local church.
