摘要: Synaptobrevins 1 and 2 are small integral membrane proteins specific for synaptic vesicles in neurons. Two cosmid clones containing the human genes encoding synaptobrevins (gene symbols SYB1 SYB2, respectively) were isolated characterized. The coding regions of synaptobrevin highly homologous to each other interrupted at identical positions by introns different size sequence. Each gene is organized into five exons whose boundaries correspond those protein domains. Exon I contains part initiator methionine codon whereas exon II encodes variable immunogenic amino-terminal domain synaptobrevins. third comprises conserved central synaptobrevins, IV most transmembrane region, V last residues region intravesicular carboxyl terminus. Comparisons sequences species from Drosophila with man indicate a selective conservation adjacent vesicle surface, suggesting function membrane-cystosol interface. chromosomal localizations mouse SYB2 determined using hybrid cell lines. was localized short arm chromosome 12 6 found on distal portion 17 11. A PstI restriction fragment length polymorphism identified locus.
