摘要: This study reports the national averages for patterns of palliative radiation therapy observed in United States patients treated 1984-1985 and compares those to pertinent literature. The data were collected by Patterns Care Study Survey Palliative conducted 49 institutions selected provide valid practice reported. Data from 784 patient records five "strata" practice. Demographic process tabulated calculated data. Four metastatic sites selected, weight bearing bones (401), non-weight (102), brain metastasis (224), lung-mediastinum (57). median age was 63 years, equally divided sex. In 52% this first metastasis. Common Karnofsky performance scores ranged 40 80%. Lung, breast, prostate most common primaries. Two-thirds linear accelerators, one-third cobalt. number fractions 10, dose 3000 cGy, fraction size 300 treatment duration 15 days. goal relief pain (98%) return function (30%) bones, it preservation (68%), (33%), compression (25%). All showed TDF values that 33-85, a approximately 65 with no consistent pattern selection other sites. Compliance strata work-up criteria excellent isolated poor compliance seen several strata.
