摘要: Glucocorticoids (GC) are effective drugs which often used in rheumatology. However, they have a considerable potential for frequent and sometimes serious side effects that restrict their use. Their mechanisms of action either receptor dependent (specific) or independent (unspecific) on the genomic as well non-genomic level. Many adverse predominantly caused by transactivation while desired mostly mediated transrepression. Treatment strategies sub-classified into low, medium, high, very high dose pulse therapy based criteria such dose, indication, duration treatment risk events. The musculoskeletal, gastrointestinal, neuro-endocrino-immunological, opthalmological neuropsychiatric systems examples where may occur.
