摘要: Kernel vitreousness, besides agronomic performance and endosperm protein quality, is important for the successful adoption of Quality Protein Maize (QPM) genotypes. The present study was undertaken to analyze in detail different attributes kernel modification (endosperm modification, crown opaqueness ear appearance) QPM inbred lines a set experimental crosses (7 x 7 full diallel). Significant differences among genotypes were observed diallel set, indicating segregation several modifier genes. Correlation analysis revealed significant positive associations as well appearance under open-pollination. Analysis ears obtained from pollination modes (open vs. controlled-pollination) indicated interaction with mode, suggesting importance source pollen its genetic constitution conferring texture. also almost equal contribution additive non-additive effects modification; however, there predominance gene on appearance. Reciprocal cross observed, possible dosage modifiers. Overall, combining ability estimation variance components relation genotypes, experiments employing controlled-pollination mode could be more reliable than those using open-pollination mode.
