摘要: This study examined the use of fricative noise information and coarticulatory cues for categorization word-final fricatives [s] [f] by younger older Dutch listeners alike. Particularly, effect loss in higher frequencies on these two was investigated. If is less strongly available, identification may be impaired or learn to focus more information. The present investigates this second possibility. Phonetic results showed that both primary cue secondary distinguish from [s]. Individual hearing sensitivity modified information, but did not modify When high-frequency filtered out speech signal, could no longer used adults. Crucially, they also rely as a compensatory categorization. suggests do readily show identity when becomes difficult.
