摘要: The growth of Microcystis aeruginosa in a small, shallow eutrophic lake was studied during three consecutive seasons. alga shown to be continuously present the plankton throughout period. Exponential increase population confined 5 8-week period, following onset thermal stratification. Populations appeared originate near bottom euphotic zone. possession an effective light-dependent buoyancy control mechanism enabled maintain station, though progressive deterioration photic conditions forced populations rise and become dissipated within epilimnion. Buoyancy increased after cessation growth; surface blooms often led physical removal majority colonies lee shores. Surviving became generally less buoyant destratified autumn.
