摘要: Background Feasibility of antireflux metal stent (ARMS), designed to prevent duodenobiliary reflux, was reported in patients with distal malignant biliary obstruction. In this prospective pilot study, we aimed evaluate a newly ARMS as reintervention for self-expandable metallic (SEMS) occlusion believed be caused by reflux. Patients and Methods Patients non-resectable obstruction were included whom prior SEMS occluded result sludge or food impaction between March 2010 January 2012 at two Japanese tertiary referral centers. The endoscopically removed, if possible, subsequently replaced ARMS. We evaluated the technical success rate complications compared time that SEMS. Results A total 13 included. successfully placed all single procedure. No procedure-related identified. occurred (15%), causes which one patient unknown other. migration four (31%). patency significantly longer than (median, not available vs 58 days; P = 0.039). Conclusions This is technically feasible, safe, effective impaction. An anti-migration mechanism improve outcomes should considered.
