摘要: The final step in the biosynthesis of heme, i.e., insertion ferrous iron into corresponding porphyrin, is catalyzed by enzyme ferrochelatase (EC 4.99.1.1,), which reported to be firmly bound inner phase mitochondrial membrane (2). topography means that substrates (iron ions and porphyrinogens) as well products (hemes) have penetrate membrane. This contention raises questions how metabolites are transported across membranes, what extent transport interferes with overall reaction. To answer these questions, studies were undertaken on activity ultrasonically treated rat liver mitochondria tightly coupled mitochondria.
