摘要: With the fast-paced development of computing technologies, mobile devices have almost sufficient computation and communication capabilities to support multimedia applications such as streaming, VoIP, TV. However, most existing are powered by battery with limited energy resource. To on battery-powered devices, how efficiently utilize power source other network resources has become one major challenges in system design. It been shown that achieving a satisfactory user experience needs systematic consideration both video adaptation transmission adaptation, indicating core design is achieve good balance consumption between usage usage. In words, it depends jointly select parameters channel based content characteristics, available resources, underlying conditions, given fact management schemes well nonlinear effects also affect devices. this paper, we review recent advances power-aware multimedia, especially technologies applied coding delivery. addition, research field demonstrated discussed, which include power-management for rate-distortion-complexity optimized codec design, computational complexity aware cross-layer optimization. At end, propose number future directions audiences continue investigation field.
