摘要: Field data on weaning behavior in bighorn sheep (Ovis canadensis) were collected from populations British Columbia, southern California, and one transplanted the original B.C. study site to eastern Oregon. These areas designated mountain, desert, transplant, respectively. Seasons that energetically stressful lactating ewes predicted. Summers implicated for desert ewes; winters colder more seasonal northern environments. Although temporal distribution of milk available lambs varied between three populations, generally weaned their prior onset predicted periods. In occurred abruptly than it did two populations. The evolution strategies is discussed subspecies based proximate ultimate factors.
