摘要: Abstract The brain electrical activity of workers exposed to the organophosphate compound (OP), sarin, was compared that control subjects. Exposed had a history one or more documented accidental exposures toxic levels sarin. However, no subject exposure within 1 year his examination. comparison included standard clinical electroencephalograms (EEGs), computer-derived EEG spectral analysis, and overnight sleep EEGs. It not possible diagnose subjects individually by expert visual inspection their statistically significant between-group differences for both visually inspected data were reported univariate multivariate statistical methods. Different changes revealed analysis appear reflect differing sensitivites these two analytic techniques. Statistically group increased beta activity, delta theta slowing, decreased alpha amounts rapid eye movement in population. is suggested above findings represent an unexpected persistence known short-term OP actions. also results, when taken along with long-term behavioral effects exposure, provide parallel evidence can produce function.
