摘要: This study uses hospital discharge data, death certificates and medical examiner data for New Jersey 1999-2001 to investigate whether fatal non-fatal self-injury exhibit similar geographic patterns. Findings show that the demographic characteristics of individuals committing are quite different. Furthermore, attempted completed suicides have a somewhat different geographical pattern. Municipality-level determinants suicide were estimated in two separate models. While measures isolation such as low population density high proportions households with only one member predictive suicides, was related unemployment median age. Both types more common municipalities which lost between 1990 2000, where divorce rates high. Population-based prevention efforts should be aided by knowledge although there some similarities spatial pattern important differences significant determinants.
