摘要: Abstract Using wet weight and total length as criteria it has been shown that the growth rate of Hymenolepis diminuta is markedly altered when sucrose substituted for starch sole host dietary carbohydrate. The size worms in singly-infected hosts a function quality carbohydrate regardless whether diet fed during initial prepatent period or after patent state attained. feeding quantitatively deficient results marked reduction worm number both previously established infections. Quantitative deficiency also causes decline egg production. Egg production affected by quality. When dextrins-maltose are furnished carbohydrate, H. reduced to less than half starch-fed hosts. Worms fructose-fed produce very few eggs differ morphologically from those produced controls. given free access low carbohydrate-high roughage diets attains same high carbohydrate-low diets. Attempts demonstrate, vitro , direct utilization kept on indicate incapable adaptation.
