Laser-induced fluorescence studies of HfF+ produced by autoionization.

摘要: Autoionization of Rydberg states HfF, prepared using the optical-optical double resonance technique, holds promise to create HfF+ in a particular Zeeman level rovibronic state for an electron electric dipole moment search. We characterize vibronic band HfF at 54 cm−1 above lowest ionization threshold and directly probe ions formed from this by performing laser-induced fluorescence on ions. The molecules show propensity decay into only few ion rotational given parity are found preserve their orientation qualitatively upon autoionization. empirically that we can 30% total yield |J+, M+〉 present simplified model describing autoionization assumes no angular dynamics.
