Complex discrete dynamics from simple continuous population models.

摘要: Nonoverlapping generations have been classically modelled as difference equations in order to account for the discrete nature of reproductive events. However, other events such resource consumption or mortality are continuous and take place within-generation time. We realistically assumed a hybrid ODE bidimensional model resources consumers with reproduction. Numerical analytical approaches showed that resulting dynamics resembles Ricker map, including doubling route chaos. Stochastic simulations handling-time parameter indirect competition juveniles may affect qualitative behaviour model.
