摘要: Compaction of permeable or porous friction course (PFC) mixtures is generally considered a process without major issues, and field density requirements (or corresponding total air voids [AV] content) are not currently specified for this type hot mix asphalt. However, proper densification one the most important aspects to control during construction prevent raveling, distress frequently reported as cause failure in these mixtures. This paper presents an evaluation effect on PFC included both study internal structure compacted comparison performance based macroscopic response. Results from showed that differences encountered road cores specimens using Superpave Gyratory Compactor limit use laboratory durability functionality evaluations In addition, changes densification, after reaching stone-on-stone contact, modified mixture properties performance. The magnitude modifications provided evidence ease verifying only contact design, but also importance controlling ensure equilibrium guarantees balance between functionality.
