摘要: In this paper a multivariate linear regression model is proposed for predicting and mapping regional species richness in areas below the timberline according to environmental variables. The data used setting up were derived from floristic inventory. Using stepwise technique, five variables found explain 48.9% of variability total number plant species: namely temperature range, proximity big river or lake, threshold minimum annual precipitation, amount calcareous rock outcrops soil types. A considerable part unexplained thought have been influenced by variations quality botanical These results show importance systematic sampling addition conventional inventories when using as basis nature conservation. Nevertheless it still possible interpret resulting diversity patterns ecologically. Regional Switzerland appears be function of: (i) heterogeneity; (ii) values precipitation; (iii) presence outcrops. According similar studies, heterogeneity was strongest determinant richness. contrast some high productivity decreased species. Furthermore, implications work climate change scenarios are discussed.
