Interaction of visual hemifield and body view in biological motion perception

摘要: The brain network for the recognition of biological motion includes visual areas and structures mirror-neuron system. latter respond during action execution as well recognition. As motor somatosensory predominantly represent contralateral side body process stimuli from hemifield, we were interested in interactions between hemifield In present study, human participants detected facing direction profile views presented periphery. They recognized a right-facing view better right than left; left-facing left right. subsequent fMRI experiment, performed with similar task, two cortical hemispheres significantly correlated behavioural effect: primary cortex (BA 2) inferior frontal gyrus 44). These activated specifically when point-light displayed their side. Our results indicate that hemispheric specialization one's own map extends to representation bodies others.
