摘要: Rice fields host a large diversity of arthropods, but investigating their population dynamics and interactions is challenging. Here we describe the modification application leaf blower-vac for suction sampling arthropod populations in rice. When used combination with an enclosure, this device provides absolute estimates arthropods as numbers per standardized area. The efficiency depends critically on duration. In mature rice crop, two-minute enclosure 0.13 m2 yields more than 90% population. also allows dwelling water surface or soil paddies, it not suitable fast flying insects, such predatory Odonata larger hymenopterous parasitoids. modified simple to construct, cheaper easier handle traditional devices, D-vac. low cost makes accessible researchers developing countries.
