Using the short mood and feelings questionnaire to detect depression in detained adolescents.

摘要: The Mood and Feelings Questionnaire (MFQ) is examined for its utility in screening youth juvenile justice settings depression. In a cross-sectional study conducted at King County Juvenile Detention Center, representative sample of 228 detained adolescents complete structured assessments, including the MFQ Massachusetts Youth Screening Instrument. Fifty also Voice-Diagnostic Interview Schedule Children. Internal reliability coefficient short form (SMFQ) = .87. Factor analysis produces unifactorial scale with item loadings .43 to .78. At SMFQ cutoff > or 10, sensitivity specificity are optimized 1.00/0.79. Prevalence major depressive disorder estimated 32.1% (95% Confidence Interval 25.3% 39.2%). shows potential depression adolescents.
