Efficient population transfer by delayed pulses despite coupling ambiguity

摘要: In traditional schemes of multilevel multilaser excitation, each laser pulse interacts with only one pair states, and the rotating wave approximation (RWA) is applicable. Here we study population transfer process in a three-state system when two lasers states Rabi frequencies characterizing interaction strengths are comparable to or larger than difference transition frequencies. We show that complete robust possible under conditions more general those hitherto considered necessary for stimulated Raman adiabatic passage (STIRAP) successive π pulses. Using Floquet theory successful can be interpreted as by means state which connects initial final states. The picture offers convenient interpretation accompanied multiple absorption photons from emission into fields.
