摘要: A method for fabricating large-area patterned carbon nanotube field emitters is reported. Carbon films were prepared by first depositing and patterning a transition metal catalyst film on substrate then heating the in hydrocarbon atmosphere. The catalytically grown had high emission current density of about 100–1000 mA cm−2 at low macroscopic electric 10–15 V μm−1. Electron from was observed 1–5 V μm−1. I–V curve obeyed Fowler–Nordheim (FN) relationship density, but field, deviated FN due to defects tip nanotubes. catalytic growth nanotubes offers an inexpensive controllable process produce uniform, large surfaces.
