摘要: Purpose Edentulous patients with denture problems benefit from implant treatment overdenture prostheses. The aim of this prospective study was to investigate a method analyzing cost effectiveness in dentistry. As an example, two or four implants compared the conventional complete (CD). Materials and methods In self-selected trial, 20 each were treated implant-retained overdentures (two implants, IRET), implant-supported (four ISUP), CDs (control group) edentulous mandible. A cost-effectiveness analysis performed patient's perspective, time horizon 6 months. Direct health-care costs calculated Swiss Francs (in 2000), effects defined as improvements perceived chewing ability baseline value before (measured on VAS). Point estimates for mean incremental ratios complemented acceptability curves account uncertainties associated effects. Results Mean CHF 4,329 (IRET-CD), 13,360 (ISUP-CD), 9,031 (ISUP-IRET); these differences all statistically significant. at months 19% 23% 4% (ISUP-IRET). Incremental 228 581 2,258 (IRET-ISUP) per percentage increase ability. Conclusion From economic point view, IRETs more attractive than ISUPs. latter significant improvement CDs, but substantially higher costs.
