摘要: Planar conductivity sensors are the subject of increasing interest as basic transducers for biosensors. The high degree control performance characteristics undoubtedly forms an important argument in favour conductivity-based sensing. paper provides outline design rules to be followed if optimal a planar cell is required. Based on simplified model, it shown that required accuracy establishes lower limit overall sensor dimensions. This expressed minimum longitudinal path length necessary obtain desired accuracy. Given available area, optimum ratio electrode-width over inter-electrode spacing two-electrode structure close unity. Furthermore, decomposition two electrodes into interdigitated decreases device all other parameters considered constant. If sensing region has limited within thin sensitive layer, splitting proposed one compound electrode. lay-out this calculated function layer thickness.
