Dependence of ceramic fracture properties on porosity

摘要: A connected-grain model developed earlier to study the modulus of elasticity as a power-law density was extended dependence flexural strength polycrystalline ceramics on porosity. Relations were derived for specific surface fracture energy, toughness and power laws (1 −p), wherep is Model validity confirmed with data α-alumina, UO2, Si3N4, YBa2Cu3O7−δ superconductor.
