摘要: Background Affective facial processing is an important component of interpersonal relationships. The neural substrate has been examined following treatment with antidepressant medication but not psychological therapies. present study investigated the correlates implicit sad expressions in depression pretreatment and posttreatment cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Methods patient group consisted 16 medication-free subjects (mean age 40 years) a DSM-IV diagnosis acute unipolar major depression, comparison were matched healthy volunteers. Subjects participated prospective functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) at weeks 0 16. During fMRI scans, performed affect recognition task stimuli morphed to display varying intensities sadness. Patients received sessions CBT. Functional data analyzed for mean activation differential response variable intensity (load-response) processing. Results depressive episode, patients showed elevated amygdala-hippocampal activity relative individuals. Baseline dorsal anterior cingulate significant relationship subsequent clinical response. Conclusions These provide further support amygdala suggest that may be predictor both pharmacotherapy
