摘要: Rhodomyrtone, a plant-derived principal compound isolated from Rhodomyrtus tomentosa (Myrtaceae) leaf extract, was assessed as potential natural alternative for the treatment of acne vulgaris. The clinical efficacy 1% liposomal encapsulated rhodomyrtone serum compared with marketed clindamycin gel. In randomized and double-blind controlled trial, 60 volunteers mild to moderate severity were assigned two groups: instructed apply samples lesions on their faces twice daily. A significant reduction in total numbers demonstrated both groups between weeks 2 8 (p < 0.05). Significant differences baseline evidenced at week onwards At end inflamed counts group significantly reduced by 36.36%, comparable 34.70% clindamycin-treated Furthermore, commercial prototype developed, assessment 45 performed. After application 1 week, 68.89% 28.89% complete improved inflammatory acne, respectively. All subjects presented no signs irritation or side effects during treatment. Most (71.11%) indicated that they very satisfied. Rhodomyrtone be effective safe lesions.
