Theoretical Study for Folded Waveguide Traveling Wave Tube

摘要: A wideband folded waveguide traveling-wave tube (TWT) amplifier has advantages of simpler coupling structures and robust structure over the conventional helix TWT. The phase velocity waves in is slowed down to electron beam. Slow-wave interaction with beam studied a linear fashion. For cold beam, theory predicts gain 2 dB/cm bandwidth 37% at center frequency 14 GHz. closed algebraic dispersion relation for axial shift per period obtained using an equivalent circuit model. Numerical solution calculated from three-dimensional electromagnetic code, HFSS simulations predict mode coalescing waveguide. And theoretical prediction wave this verified by simulations.
