摘要: Background: Intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR) has been associated with low bone mass in infancy and increased risk for osteoporosis development adult life. Osteoprotegerin (OPG) receptor activator of nuclear factor-κB ligand (RANKL) are main determinants resorption. Objectives: To investigate OPG soluble RANKL (sRANKL) concentrations maternal, fetal neonatal serum IUGR patients appropriate gestational age (AGA) pregnancies. Additionally, plasma intact parathormone (PTH) were evaluated. Methods: Circulating OPG, sRANKL PTH measured 40 mothers their singleton full-term fetuses-neonates (AGA: n = 20, IUGR: =20) on postnatal days 1 (N1) 4 (N4). Results: No significant differences or observed between AGA groups. In both groups, maternal elevated compared fetal, N1 N4 (p ≤ 0.045 all cases). ones 0.01 Fetal correlated positively levels (r 0.642, p 0.024 r 0.584, 0.046, respectively). Conclusions: The lack a difference circulating cases controls suggests that the infants may not be related to higher resorption rates. fetal/neonatal, suggest placental origin. lower fetuses neonates could represent high
