摘要: This chapter concerns the development of two types understanding: understanding metaphors and fantasy-based language. Both metaphorical language are figurative in sense that they involve unconventional interpretations. In lieu more detailed definitions memory given below, I offer some examples for purpose preliminary discussion. Speaking conventionally, we can call a tabby “cat,” but speak figuratively if refer to Maggie Cat on Hot Tin Roof as “cat”; this use “cat” describe woman is metaphorical.
