摘要: Tundra ponds are ubiquitous features in the High Arctic. The water balance of one such pond situated on Ellesmere Island was found to be dependent upon groundwater supplies from internally-drained basin which it located. For as a whole, evaporation constituted an important component balance, accounting for over 90 per cent rainfall summer period less than six weeks. Changes occurring quantity response were depend degree saturation active layer underlying permafrost.
