摘要: Autogenous Aedes atropalpus (Coquillet) females derived from larvae fed on a standard maximum diet, matured about the same numbers of eggs when supplied with water only or 25% sucrose. Those maintained laid 56% number within 5 days emergence, but sugar-fed insects 28% in time, and even after 35 many were found to have retained their eggs. The physiological mechanism causing delay was not associated crop distention, nor nutritional changes brought by ingested sugar.Nulliparous mostly refused blood during first ovarian cycle although few did rake meal. At time feeding already mature neither protein carbohydrate host utilized cycle. Parous used for egg development there rapid rise haemolymph feeding, indicating that sugars also immediately.Nullipars very low diet seek meal either, these some commenced various stages. Sugar adults assisted both maturation oviposition.
