摘要: We compare species diversity and composition in a large sample of deep-sea gastropods collected off Newfoundland the Grand Banks (4,400 m) to samples from continental rise (3,806-3,834 m) abyssal plain (4,680-4,970 m) south New England. The shares half its with fauna found England, but is distinguished compositionally both communities. Species similar at depths, significantly higher than depths Elevated associated surface production rates particulate organic carbon flux seafloor, suggesting that food supply potentially plays an important role regulating great depths.
