摘要: Abstract In this paper, we describe models of water/oil displacement in typical, geologically-structured media. We focus specifically on laminated and cross-bedded structures, since these are almost ubiquitous clastic sedimentary reservoirs. The importance, for field-scale models, properly representing the interaction viscous, capillary gravitational forces with small-scale heterogeneity is clearly demonstrated. Because length-scale, δχ, lamination order 10−3 to 10−2 m, forces, which inversely proportional may play a very significant role determining effective flow behaviour at larger scales. show that there important differences oil recovery between cross-layer along-layer flow. Differences up factor two ultimate be produced by different representations realistic structure (such as parallel lamination, cross-lamination faulting). significance findings correct scale-up procedure multiphase parameters. use term geopseudo correctly-scaled, multi-phase, pseudofunctions capture effects structure. Field-scale reservoir must take account lay claim reasonable accuracy production forecasts.
