摘要: Dittrichia viscosa (L.) Greuter, a perennial weed of the Mediterranean area, was reported to be source active substances. Here, by means both ingestion and contact assays, biological activity three different extracts (n-hexane, methanol, distilled water) D. aerial part has been evaluated against Sitophilus granarius adults, an important pest stored grains. Ingestion assays showed negligible mortality food deterrence for all extracts, whereas only slight reduction some nutritional parameters (relative growth rate, relative consumption efficiency conversion) recorded water extract. High toxicity found n-hexane extract (24 h median lethal dose LD50 = 53.20 μg/adult). This further subfractioned silica gel column chromatography then thin layer chromatography. Further bioassays highlighted two subfractions which were analyzed GC-MS. revealed occurrence, in subfractions, major peaks that identified as α- γ- costic acid isomers. Moreover, did not cause acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibition; therefore, light progressive limitation compounds acting this mechanism action, represents promising eco-sustainable natural products control.
