摘要: Abstract. The Himalayan region are home to the world’s youngest and largest mountains, origins of major rivers systems South Asia. present work highlight importance remote sensing (RS) data based precipitation terrain products such as digital elevation models, glacier lakes, drainage morphology along with limited ground for improving accuracy hydrological hydrodynamic (HD) models in various river basins Upper Ganga, Beas, Sutlej, Teesta, Koshi etc. satellite rainfall have mostly shown under prediction study area few places also showing over estimation rainfall. Hydrological modeling results were most accurate Beas basin, followed by Ganga basin least matching Sutlej basin. Limited truth using GNSS measurements showed that model (DEM) carto version 3.1 is accurate, ALOS-PALSAR 12.5 DEM compared other open source DEMs. Major erosion deposition was found Rivers Bhagirathi, Alakhnanda, Gori Yamuna Uttarakhand state Himachal Pradesh pre post flood datasets. cross section sections water carrying capacity before after 2013 floods changed drastically many stretches upper parts basins. spatio-temporal variation evolution lakes GLOF Chenab, Teesta done time series RS from Landsat, Sentinel-1 Google earth images.
